Recently, we had the pleasure of joining an episode of Garage Talk Unwrapped – The Podcast, hosted by Ben and Vicky from Garage Talk Online. What stood out straight away was how natural the conversation felt. Rather than a formal interview, it felt like sitting down with people who genuinely understand the day to day reality of the automotive aftermarket and enjoy talking about where it is heading.

Ben and Vicky have built a digital space that brings together voices from across the industry and their approach reflects that. They ask thoughtful questions, encourage honest discussion and create a place where founders, suppliers and workshops share experiences openly. Recording the episode felt relaxed, engaging, and most importantly, authentic.

For us, the conversation offered a chance to talk about the journey behind Part Sync and the reasons we decided to build it in the first place.

A conversation about the industry, not only the product

One of the most enjoyable parts of the podcast recording was the freedom to explore topics beyond the platform itself. Ben and Vicky were interested in the wider picture, which led to a discussion about how the aftermarket is evolving and how digital tools fit into that change.

We talked about the challenges that garages face every day when trying to keep vehicles moving through busy workshops. We discussed the pressures suppliers experience when managing quote requests and maintaining competitive pricing. We also explored how transparency and efficiency improve relationships across the supply chain.

Conversations like this matter because they highlight the human side of the industry. Behind every parts request there is a service advisor trying to keep a customer happy, a supplier working to deliver quickly, and a technician waiting for the right component to finish the job.

Technology plays a role, but the goal always remains the same: making life easier for the people doing the work.

What listeners will hear in the episode

The episode offers a deeper look into the thinking behind Part Sync and the challenges involved in launching a new platform in a traditional industry.

    During the conversation we discuss:

    • The origin of the idea and how the platform developed

    • The common frustrations garages face when sourcing parts

    • How faster quoting helps workshops maintain productivity

    • Why transparency between buyers and suppliers improves trust

    • How digital marketplaces are shaping the future of the aftermarket

We also share lessons learned along the way, including feedback from early users and the practical insights that come from working closely with garages and suppliers.

A thank you to the Garage Talk team

Taking part in the podcast reminded us how important industry conversations are. Platforms like Garage Talk Unwrapped – The Podcast create space for open dialogue, allowing people from across the aftermarket to exchange ideas and experiences.

Ben and Vicky do a fantastic job of bringing those conversations to life. Their enthusiasm for the sector is clear, and their ability to connect with guests makes every episode feel personal and engaging.

We are grateful for the opportunity to join them and share the story behind Part Sync.
